The National Testing Agency or NTA has released the CUET UG results on its official website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG. Candidates can download their CUET UG scorecards using their registration details. This year, the CUET (UG) was conducted in a hybrid mode for around 14,99,790 candidates who applied for various combinations of subjects across 283 Central, State, and other participating universities and institutions.
The CUET (UG) 2024 serves as a unified entrance test for students seeking admission to undergraduate programs in Central Universities and other participating institutions. This initiative, mandated by the Ministry of Education and the UGC, the higher education authority, aimed to simplify the admission process, especially for students from rural and remote areas, by offering a single examination window to connect with multiple universities.
In the CUET (UG) 2024, candidates could choose from 63 subjects, including 33 languages, 29 domain-specific subjects, and one general test, with the option to select up to six subjects. New subjects such as Fashion Studies and Tourism were added this year. The test duration for subjects like Accountancy, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and the General Test was 60 minutes.
The examination was conducted across 379 cities in India and 26 cities abroad, ensuring accessibility for a diverse range of students. The medium of the question papers included 13 languages to accommodate candidates from different regions. The results reveal detailed statistics on registered and appeared candidates across various categories, with significant participation from general, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories.
In total, 13,47,820 unique candidates registered for the CUET (UG) 2024, out of which 11,13,610 appeared for the exam. The subject tests saw 57,71,668 registrations, with 46,21,670 tests being administered. Among the unique candidates, 7,17,248 were male, 6,30,565 were female, and 7 were from the third gender. Additionally, 4,461 unique candidates were registered as PwD.
The breakdown of candidates by category includes 5,43,996 from the General category, 4,82,552 from OBC, 1,44,851 from SC, 88,097 from ST, and 88,324 from EWS. Among those who appeared, 4,48,908 were from the General category, 3,99,945 from OBC, 1,19,164 from SC, 70,613 from ST, and 74,980 from EWS.
The examination was conducted in three phases, covering 99 question papers with a total of 59,110 questions. The test was designed to allow candidates to attempt 40 out of 50 questions in each subject, except for the General Test, which required 50 out of 60 questions to be attempted. The CUET (UG) 2024 provided a comprehensive and inclusive testing process, accommodating a wide range of subjects and languages, ensuring equal opportunities for students across the country.
