Fringe Group 'Sri Ram Sena' Members Add Poison In School Water Tank To Remove Muslim Principal
In a disturbing incident in Belgaum, Karnataka, where 3 members of the fringe group ‘Sri Ram Sena’ allegedly poisoned a government school water tank with the intent to kill children and frame the Muslim headmaster, 11 children have fallen sick. The incident happened at the government school of Holikatti village of Parasgarh Taluka, Belgaum.
Reportedly, the Karnataka Police have arrested the three suspects named Sagar Patil, Nagangouda Patil, and Krishna Madar, including Sri Ram Sena’s Savadatti chief.
Reportedly, the act was driven by communal motives, and all accused are now in judicial custody. This event is alleged to be part of a broader pattern of actions by Sri Ram Sena, a group known for its controversial and often violent activities, including hate speech and attempts to incite communal tension.
The conspiracy was allegedly targeting the school headmaster Suleman Gaurinayak, who had been the principal for the last 13 years. Reportedly, Sagar Patil, a member of the Sri Ram Sena, wanted the school principal to be transferred to some other place.
Sri Ram Sena arose as a breakaway from the Bajrang Dal in Karnataka, and its core ideology revolves around moral policing and Hindu nationalist activism. The 2009 attacks on Pub-goers in Mangalore by the Sri Ram Sena activists stirred nationwide condemnation.
