The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 information brochure. The GATE brochure is available at the official website – gate2025.iitr.ac.in. IIT Roorkee will conduct the GATE 2025 exam.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level entrance examination conducted in India to test the comprehensive understanding of undergraduate subjects in engineering, sciences, and humanities for admission to postgraduate programs.

Important Dates

The institution has announced the important dates of applications and examinations.

  • The application process for the GATE 2025 examination will start on August 24.
  • The last dates to apply for the exam are September 26 (without late fees) and October 7 (with late fees).
  • The GATE 2025 exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15 and 16.

GATE 2025 Examination Sessions and Papers

The GATE examination will be held in two sessions – forenoon and afternoon in the weekends between February 1 and 16. The forenoon session will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The GATE 2025 exam will be held for a total of 30 test papers and candidates can appear only for one or two test papers. The paper combination must be chosen from the list of the test papers given.

Candidates shall not fill separate application forms if they are appearing for two test papers. For both the test papers only one application will have to be filled.

GATE 2025 Examination Pattern

The GATE 2025 examination language will be english and paper will be objective type. The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

In the MCQs type of the questions one out of the four given options is correct. In MSQs, one or more than one options is/are correct and in the NAT questions, the answer must be keyed by using a virtual keypad.
