Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), a group of prestigious autonomous institutions for teaching and research in natural science, have started the application process for admission to BS-MS dual degree and four-year BS degree programmes. Notably, a remarkable change has been introduced in the eligibility criteria for admissions in the institutes. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced scores will no longer considered for the admission at IISERs. The admission this year will be based on the institute”s own entrance test, IISER”s Aptitude Test (IAT 2024).
Aspirants seeking admission in the seven IISERs including, IISER Berhampur, IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, and IISER Tirupati, can register themselves for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT 2024) by visiting the official website
The deadline to complete the online application form for the IAT entrance test is May 13, 2024. The test will be conducted on June 9, 2024. However, candidates can make changes to their application forms on May 16 and 17. The admit cards will be out by June 1.
The IISER has also made some other changes; Aspirants who have qualified for Class 12 or equivalent examination in the Science stream in 2022, 2023, or 2024, with a minimum of 60 per cent marks for general category candidates, are eligible to apply for IAT 2024. For the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disability (PwD) categories, the minimum score requirement is 55 per cent to apply for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT 2024).
