JMI Secures Rank 4 In NIRF Rankings 2025; Dropping From Its Earlier
The Union Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, with top universities, colleges, and institutions’ scores and respective ranks. The NIRF rank is released every year by the Ministry to showcase the performance of Indian institutes.
This year, the top rank is secured by IIT Madras, followed by IISc and IIT Bombay. Among the universities, the top spots are grabbed by IISc, JNU, and Banaras Hindu University, respectively.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a NAAC A++ accredited central university, has secured the 4th position in the NIRF University Rankings 2025, reaffirming its place among India’s leading academic institutions. The rankings were announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during a formal event held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
This year, JMI slipped one place from its consistent 3rd rank held over the past three years.
JMI has secured an overall score of 66.99 with an overall rank of 13.
The ranking covers nine categories, including Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Innovation, State Public Universities, Open Universities, Skill Universities, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among others.
Notably, Hindu College retained its top spot as the best college followed by Miranda House and Hansraj college.
