Students who need to get admission to the top colleges across the country for undergraduate courses are required to clear the Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate). The exam was held in computer-based mode between May 13 to June 4, across 300 cities worldwide.

For admission to top colleges, candidates need to secure cut-off marks; however, the Delhi University offers a special provision for students under the Single Girl Child (SGC) quota. The SCG quota was introduced in 2023. A few students who narrowly missed the qualifying marks or could not complete the exam due to technical glitches were able to secure admission to top colleges under this quota.

The SGC quota aims to provide an opportunity to single girl children from all backgrounds. To apply under this quota, students need to submit an affidavit confirming they are a single girl child.

Seats under the SGC quota are reserved across programmes based on merit. As per the data from DU’s admissions office, 849 students secured admission under this quota in the 2024-25 academic session – a significant increase from 764 admissions in the previous year. As per the report, the provision is going to extend to postgraduate admission this year also.

Delhi University is set to begin the first phase of the undergraduate admission process this week under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).

Admission to Delhi University will be based on CUET UG 2025 scores. In the initial phase, applicants must provide basic personal and academic details, upload required documents such as category, EWS, or PwD certificates, and verify their CUET scores, linked to their profiles.
