DU Admission 2025-26: Students Prefer Commerce And Humanities Subjects Over Science In Delhi Colleges

The admission for the 2025-26 academic session of the Delhi University is underway. The first round of seat allocation and admission process has been completed, and the university has released the seat matrix for the next round. The vacant seats matrix for the UR CSAS 2025-26 second round of allocation and admissions is available on the official website – admission.uod.ac.in.

Candidates who have not secured colleges of their choice in the first round can look at the list available to fill in their colleges and subjects. The availability of seats for different subjects will help students to choose colleges and subjects wisely to enhance their chances of getting into the best colleges.

Notably, in most of the colleges of Delhi University, seats under the Commerce and humanities subjects, which include history (Hons), Political Science (Hons.), Economics (Hons), were preferred by the students. However, Science stream subjects, including Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biological Sciences, Bio-Chemistry, and Computer Sciences, among others, have seats that are still available in good numbers.

In top priority colleges such as St. Stephen’s, Hindu College, and Hansraj College, multiple seats are vacant for Science Stream students. However, in these colleges, seats in humanities and commerce subjects have almost been filled in various categories.
