The University of Delhi (DU) admission program is underway, and the first list of college allotment has been issued by the university on July 19th. This year, the University received the highest number of candidates aspiring to take admission to 71,642 seats in 79 programs offered in 69 colleges.

The University started applications for its UG program on June 17, 2025, through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). As per the figures released by the Delhi University, a total of 2,39,890 candidates submitted their preferences, and a total of 16,839,462 unique college and program preferences were received from the candidates.

B.Com Honors has remained the top priority of the students, followed by English, Political Science, and History.

The top 5 preferred programs in various colleges remained:

  • B.Com. (H): 19,90,966
  • B.Com: 15,26,403
  • B.A. (H) English: 12,23,388
  • B.A. (H) Political Science: 9,96,868
  • B.A. (H) History, 7,72,029

Also, Sri Ram College of Commerce remained the most preferred college choice of the candidates, followed by Hindu College and Hansraj College.

The top 5 first preferred colleges are:

  • Sri Ram College of Commerce: 38,795
  • Hindu College: 31,901
  • Hansraj College: 15,902
  • St Stephen’s: 12,413
  • Miranda House: 11,403

Notably, humanities-based programs remained the top choice of students, followed by commerce and science-based programs.

  • 58.89% of candidates have opted for Humanities-based Programs
  • 20 .89% of candidates have opted for Commerce-based Programs
  • 20.22%of candidates have opted for Science-based Programs

Considering the data received, the university is expecting more than 5,75,80,700 programs, college preference on 1549 unique programs and college combinations.
