The National Testing Agency (NTA) has Invited applications for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination in June 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the online mode only via the NTA’s official website- csirnet.nta.ac.in. Application in any other mode (except online) will not be accepted by the testing agency. The application deadline for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination June 2024 is May 21, 2024.
The NTA conducts the exam to determine the eligibility to award:
- Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor
- Appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D
- Admission to Ph.D only
Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination June 2024: Important dates
As per the official notification, the exam will be conducted on 25, 26, and 27th June 2024 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
The last date for payment of the fee is May 23, 2024, up to 11:50 PM. The exam fee is required to be paid online only through a payment gateway including debit/credit cards, internet banking, or UPI.
The correction window will remain open from May 25 to May 27, 2024.

Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination June 2024: Exam Pattern
There will be a total of 5 test papers including Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
The medium of the paper will be bilingual – English and Hindi languages and the time duration of the exam will be 180 minutes (3 hours).
The pattern of examination will be of objective type with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The test paper will consist of three parts (part A, part B, and part C) and there will be no break between papers.
There will be different negative markings (25% or 33% or no negative marking) on the different papers. For example, in chemical science papers, there is a 1/4th negative marking whereas in the earth science paper, there will be a 1/4th negative marking in Part A and Part B but a 1/3rd negative marking in Part C. Similarly, in Mathematics papers there is no negative marking in Part C.
Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria and instructions provided in the information bulletin before filling up the application form. Notably, candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and mobile number provided by them are functional and are their own or parents/guardians since any further information will be provided through email or SMS on mobile.
