Schools In Odisha To Remain Close On September 17 Due To PM Modi's Visit

All schools and colleges will remain close in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) are on Monday, September 17 due to the Prime Minister Modi visit to the state. On September 17, PM Modi will launch ‘SUBHADRA’, a flagship scheme of the Government of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar.

As per the CM office orders, “All schools and colleges in the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Area will have a complete holiday on September 17th. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Subhadra Yojana in Bhubaneswar on September 17”.

The notice further added that the decision was taken considering a huge public meeting in Bhubaneswar. The schools and colleges will remain closed for the full day and the government offices will be closed for half of the day, it mentioned.

The PM Office said ‘SUBHADRA’ scheme as the largest, single women-centric scheme and expects to cover more than 1 crore women. The scheme will cover all eligible beneficiaries between the age of 21 to 60 years who would receive Rs 50,000 over a period of 5 years from 2024-25 to 2028-29. A total amount of Rs 10,000 per annum will be credited to the beneficiary’s account that must be Aadhaar-enabled and DBT enabled.

On September 17, PM Modi would start the fund transfer into the bank accounts of more than 10 lakh women.

Prime Minister Modi will release the 1st instalment of assistance to nearly 13 lakh beneficiaries under PMAY-G in around 14 states. The Griha Pravesh celebrations for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY (Gramin and Urban) from across the country will be held during the program.
