New Delhi: In his first public address since the India-Pakistan military strikes last week following Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at around 8 pm on Monday.

After four days of intense firing, the India and Pakistan agreed for the cessation of firing and military action on Saturday evening with US President Donald Trump’s mediation. However, within hours of agreeing to ceasefire, cross-border firing from Pakistan was reported at multiple locations including drone incursions and shelling across Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Indian Army said that the night remained largely peaceful across across all areas along the International Border, and no incidents of shelling and firing were reported, marking the first calm night in recent days.

On Sunday, Directors General from the three services addressed a press conference and briefed about Operation Sindoor. They said that more than 100 terrorists were killed, including those involved in the IC 814 hijacking and the Pulwama blasts and added that nine terror hubs in Pakistan were also hit.

Tensions heightened between the countries following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir which killed 26 people. In response, On May 7, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, a series of air-strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir targeting nine “terrorist infrastructure” sites.

Afterwards, Pakistan has launched waves of drone and missile attacks targeting Indian military and civilian infrastructure across 26 locations, including Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat.
