As per the reports, the Uttar Pradesh Education Department is preparing to close down over 27,000 basic schools in UP. The UP government has decided to close such government schools where student strength is less than 50. However, now clearing the air, the Department of Basic Education Uttar Pradesh has rejected any such news and called it misleading.

Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal also criticized the move regarding closing the government schools. Kejriwal compared the Delhi and UP school education and urged the people of Delhi not to bring BJP rule in the state considering their performance in the education sector.

People are not only raising questions about the future of students rather they are also objecting to the prospects of TET and CTET qualified candidates who will be devoid of teaching jobs if the decision gets implemented in Uttar Pradesh.
BSP leader and Mayawati’s nephew Akash Anand called the govt decision as anti-dalit and while taking about the lower standard of the education said, “The condition of government schools has deteriorated drastically Instead of improving it, Yogi Government wants to close it. If this happens then what will happen to the poor children? Instead of closing private schools, government schools are being closed”. BSP supremo Mayawati has also objected and said that govt should work to improve the conditions of schools instead of closing them.
