Why Over 350 Candidates Barred From NEET UG, PG Counselling In Uttar Pradesh?

The Directorate of Medical Education and Training in Uttar Pradesh has disqualified over 350 candidates from participating in the upcoming NEET UG and PG counselling. Reportedly, these candidates failed to meet specific requirements in the earlier academic sessions.

The Directorate of Medical Education said that the candidates who did not take up their assigned seats in 2023 are being prohibited from participating in the NEET PG 2024-25 counselling sessions. It aims to discourage the misuse of available seats and to ensure the importance of counselling process among the candidates.

According to the letter provided by the directorate, these candidates were also allotted medical seats in Uttar Pradesh in October and November of the previous year. These seats remained vacant for the entire year. The recent move is to prevent such wastage of valuable seats and ensure that all available positions are filled by deserving candidates.
