As TVK Emerges In Tamil Nadu, All Eyes On Actor-Politician Vijay's Big Poll Promises
Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Actor Vijay-led TVK has emerged leading single biggest party in Tamil Nadu as counting for the 2026 Assembly elections nears the end. The TVK is leading in 110 constituencies while the AIADMK in 57 seats. The ruling DMK is leading with only 48 seats.
The TVK chief and actor politician Vijay had promised huge guarantees if the party wins the assembly elections. As TVK is leading in the majority of the seats, voters are looking at the key poll promises. The poll guarantees appear to have clicked the voters in Tamil Nadu.

The actor-politician’s promises include a monthly handout of Rs 2,500 for every woman heads of families aged up to 60, six free LPG cylinders a year, a separate state government department to ensure their security and special women’s courts.
The promises also include Rs 10,000 for unemployed graduates, a waiver for cooperative crop loans and a ministry of artificial intelligence, a sovereign gold coin and a silk saari for every bride, Rs 15,000 a year for girls up to Class 12 to reduce drop-outs, a single financial handout of up to Rs 5 lake for women self-help groups and up to Rs 20 lake collateral free loan for students between Class 12 and the PhD level.
The party has also promised to employ half a million young people at the village level as part of the “CM People Service Associate” program, a job that will earn them Rs 18,000 a month.
