CN Annaduari, the sitting MP is fielded as the DMK candidate from Tiruvannamalai constituency.

After fielding the candidate, the DMK functionaries said that this was the first time a person with the identical name of the party founder was fielded in the electoral fray. Party founder Annadurai who was popularly known as Anna was a Rajya Sabha member 1962-67. He was the first DMK chief minister of the state when the party won the 1967 polls. Annadurai died due to cancer in 1969 and Karunanidhi succeeded him.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, CN Annadurai, DMK candidate won the election by securing 666,272 votes. Meanwhile, in the 2014 election, AIADMK candidate R. Vanaroja won the election by securing 500,751 votes.

The Tiruvannamalai constituency reflects a demographic and remains a crucial constituency of Tamil Nadu. For the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election, Kaliyaperumal from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, A Ashwathaman from Bharatiya Janata Party, CN Annadurai from DMK, and Rameshbabhu from Naam Tamilar Katchi are the prominent candidates.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Tiruvannamalai witnessed a fiercely contested battle. And this constituency witnessed a fiercely contested battle. They witnessed a 77.49% voter turnout in the year 2019. DMK candidate Annadurai CN defeated Agri Krishnamurthy SS of the AIADMK, who got 3,62, 075 votes.
The constituency will go for polling on 19th April 2024, with the Election Commission announcing results on 4th June.
