Saket Gokhale Criticises Postponing J&K Board Exams In The Wake Of Modi's Visit

“Election Campaigning Is Priority…”: Saket Gokhale Criticises Postponing J&K Board Exams

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) postponed the Class 10 board exam 2024 which was scheduled to be held on March 7, 2023.

TMC leader Saket Gokhale criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for postponing the exams. The attack of the TMC leader came as the PM landed in Kashmir today. And the exam were postponed a day prior to Modi’s visit.

Accusing PM Modi for prioritising election campaigns over students, he wrote on X, “And just to accommodate his visit, 10th Board exams have all been postponed.”

He further alleged that Modi could have chosen another date for the visit after the exams. “Why was it so hard for Modi to plan his visit after the exams? After all, this is the man who does a drama of “Pariksha Pe Charcha” & writes “Exam Warriors”. Thing is – election campaigning is priority for Modi. And especially when it’s done on public money,” he added.

TMC leader concluded his post by claiming that PM Modi is in a hurry to do maximum PR at government expense before Code of Conduct. “Students don’t mean a damn if something as silly as their X Board Exams get in the way of Modi’s election schedule where he is in a hurry to do maximum PR at govt expense before Code of Conduct,” he wrote.

During the visit of the Prime minister, he will take part in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu and Kashmir’ initiative. He is expected to unveil several development projects worth more than Rs 6,400 crore and address a public meeting in Srinagar. Apart from this, Modi will also address a rally at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium on March 7, which will be his first after the scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.
