For A New Dawn, Bring Congress: Priyanka Gandhi In Telangana

Palair (Telangana): Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi today made a fervent appeal to the people of Telangana to bring change and vote Congress to power in the state. She said, if they really wanted to empower themselves, they must vote for the Congress. “For a new dawn, bring Congress”, she remarked.

In a speech in front of a massive crowd, here today, Priyanka Gandhi said that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao had shattered the dreams of the people of Telangana they had seen ten years ago. She said, Telangana was created by the sacrifice of the people, the farmers, the youth and the women with a hope and a dream that they will be empowered, only to realize that they had been betrayed by KCR who had kept and centralised the entire power within his own family.

Priyanka Gandhi pointed out, the KCR family had kept all power to itself. She said, while the youth of Telangana had got no jobs, KCR’s family had got all the jobs, the ministries and the business while common people were made to suffer.

Appealing to people to vote for the Congress, Priyanka Gandhi said, their dream was yet to be realized, as the last ten years of BRS rule under KCR were the years of betrayal and disappointment, besides massive corruption with a scam reported from every big project.

Reiterating her party’s guarantees, Priyanka Gandhi said, the Congress party promises guarantees with a sincere intention to fulfill these. She said, “when we say we will do something, we have a strong basis and credentials as we have done in other states like Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Karnataka”.

Similarly, she said, the Rajasthan government had provided two lakh jobs in the state during the last five years, while Chhattisgarh had the lowest unemployment rate in the country.

Urging people to be alert and careful, Priyanka Gandhi said, these elections were very crucial for their own future and the future of the state. She told them if they wanted jobs they must vote for Congress. She expressed confidence that if they vote with caution and care they will only vote for the Congress.
