He explains his insights on how to overcome the disappointing result in Haryana and secure victory in the upcoming Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections. He emphasised the importance of learning from past mistakes and adapting strategies to counter the BJP’s tactics. Jha said, “He said, “Although losing Haryana is a blow, the Congress vote-share increase of 40% from 2019 and identical vote-share with the BJP are positives.” He stated that the party struggles with finishing strong and often stumbles near the end saying that the a need to reverse this trend in the upcoming election.

He also stressed that Maharashtra’s election will decide the fate of the Modi government as PM Modi’s boasts about Haryana overlook the state’s complexities. “A win for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance would significantly boost the INDIA alliance.” He advised, “Make Uddhav Thackeray the Chief Ministerial face, leveraging his popularity, character and credibility,” Jha added.
He also addressed the issues that the BJP neglects governance and policies after winning focusing on Hindutva ideology and that the Opposition must avoid complacency recognising that BJP’s failures don’t guarantee victory but tactically plan what is good for the Congress party in both states.
Jha recommended contesting vigorously in all 288 Maharashtra constituencies, regardless of anticipated advantages and prioritising winning both seats and vote-share. He stressed that it is mandatory to recognise local elections’ unique dynamics and public moods and also to understand the BJP’s ideology-driven approach in the upcoming elections.
