Gondiya Election Result: Incumbent MLA Vinod Agrawal Of BJP Leads
BJP candidate and incumbent MLA Vinod Agrawal is in the lead with 23,145 votes. He has surpassed Congress candidate Agrawal Gopaldas Shankarlal who has secured over 28,000 votes so far. The saffron party candidate has secured 51,181 votes so far, as per the Election Commission data.
As an independent candidate, Vinod Agrawal won this seat, defeating BJP’s Agrawal Gopaldas Shankarlal by a margin of 27,173 in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections. It was 12.98 percent of the total votes cast for the seat. IND had a vote share of 49.19 percent in 2019 in this seat.

Shankarlal won the seat as a Congress candidate in 2014, defeating BJP’s Agrawal Vinodkumar with a margin of 10,758 votes, which was 5.49% of the total votes cast for the seat.
In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shankarlal won in the Gondiya assembly seat as a Congress candidate. He defeated Kuthe Rameshkumar Sampatrao of Shiv Sena by a margin of 9,971 votes.
A total of 15 candidates were in the fray for the Gondiya Assembly seat in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election.
As the ruling Mahayuti alliance hopes to continue in power, opposition Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) strives for a strong comeback.

The BJP has fielded 149 candidates, Shiv Sena (Shinde) 81, and NCP (Ajit Pawar) 59. In the opposition, the Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) 95, and NCP (Sharad Pawar) 86.
This assembly polls mark first one in the state after Shiv Sena and NCP split in 2022, and 2023 respectively.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP secured 105 seats, the undivided Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, the Shiv Sena and the Congress garnered 63, and 42 seats, respectively.
The 288 assembly seats in the State went to polls in a single phase on November 20 and 66.05% voter turnout was recorded. Among the seats, 234 belongs to general constituencies, 29 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 25 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
