In the ongoing Jharkhand assembly election results counting, BJP’s Purnima Sahu is currently leading by 21, 680 votes in the Jamshedpur East constituency. She faced tough competition from Congress’s Ajoy Kumar and JLKM’s Tarun Kumar De.
Located in the industrial hub of Jharkhand, Jamshedpur East is a key constituency that forms part of the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. The city is home to Tata Steel, the largest industrial entity in the region, and Jojobera, which hosts Asia’s largest cement grinding unit, Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Limited.

In the 2019 assembly elections, independent candidate Saryu Roy won the Jamshedpur East seat with 73,945 votes, while BJP’s Raghubar Das secured 58,112 votes and Congress’s Gaurav Vallabh garnered 18,976 votes.
In the 2014 assembly elections, Raghubar Das of the BJP won with 103,427 votes, followed by Congress’s Anand Bihari Dubey with 33,270 votes and JVM(P)’s Abhay Singh, who received 20,815 votes.
The counting of votes for the Jharkhand Assembly elections took place today November 23, 2024. The main battle is between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA alliance and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for 81 seats altogether.
