As drift rose between Congress, Janata Dal United (JDU) and Samajwadi Party (SP) over the distribution of seats in upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, former chief minister and state Congress Chief Kamal Nath gave clarity in this regard and said issue “was not about seats, the question was that which seats.”
Congress leader said: “We tried (to make an alliance), it was not about seats, the question was that which seats. The seats for which our people said that the BJP would be benefitted, there it could not happen,” reports ANI.
The current scenario in Madhya Pradesh, shadow looms over the unity of I.N.D.I.A. grouping as allocation of seat issues created conflict among alliance partners like JD(U) and SP with Congress. Last week, Mr Nath has been asked by reporters about Mr Yadav”s allegations on Congress”s betrayal, and former dismissed the question by replying “Arey bhai chhodo Akhilesh Vakhilesh” (Forget about Akhilesh Yadav). Veteran Congress leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijaya Singh disapproved Mr Nath”s jibe and said that one should not say anything like that about anyone.
Meanwhile, Mr Nath will submit his submit nomination from Chhindwara assembly constituency on Thursday. Congress leader who is currently in Chhindwara told reporters that “I have complete faith in the voters of Chhindwara” and “the voters of Chhindwara are very sensible,” reports ANI.
