As the drift between Congress and Samajwadi Party is brewing over seat-sharing in the election, Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath dismissed questions on Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav“s allegations on the party and told the reporters, “Arey bhai chhodo Akhilesh Vakhilesh” (Forget about Akhilesh Yadav).
When reporters at first asked about the Assembly elections, and current environment in Madhya Pradesh, Mr Nath replied: “The environment is very good. People are calling us and telling us that there is enthusiasm amongst the people. We will win with an even better number than we had expected. There is going to be a Congress government in Madhya Pradesh.”
Then reporters proceeded to the ask about Mr Yadav”s claim of Congress”s “betrayal”, which Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief dismissed with this curt remark.
It was on Thursday, SP Chief accused Congress”s betrayal on not sharing seats in the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls. “We were assured that six seats will be given to us. If we had known that there was no alliance of INDIA bloc (of Samajwadi Party and Congress) in Madhya Pradesh for assembly elections, then we would not have sent our people to hold discussions with Congress,” he said.

SP leader then, cautioned that Congress will get the same treatment in Uttar Pradesh. He has also alleged that some “Congress leaders are siding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).”
In another response, SP Chief said, Congress should have informed before if they did not want to share seats. “If Congress continues to behave like this, then who will trust them? If we fight with confusion in mind against the BJP, then we won”t succeed,” he added.
Mr Yadav”s SP is a key member in INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc, which is formed with an aim to present a united front against BJP in the elections.
Referring Congress leader Kamal Nath”s statement, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya said that it reflects Congress” respect towards its alliance partners. “After Kamal Nath”s statement today, it has become clear how much Congress respects its alliance partners. When they have work, they hug each other and after work, they behave like this. This is the real character of Congress.”
Madhya Pradesh will go to polls on November 17, and the counting would be done on December 3.
