Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party Chief, accused that the Opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance or INDIA alliance, is only at the national level. Earlier he raised the question of whether the coalition is also at the state level to the Congress party.
While only weeks were remaining for the elections on remaining 5 states, Mr. Yadav stated that he knew there would be no INDIA alliance on state-level and went “ahead and began declaring candidates for those (Madhya Election) elections”, he told the reporters. He said, “now we have the information that the alliance is only at the (national) level of Delhi”. He added that bridge (Delhi) will be crossed when then the time comes.
The Samajwadi Party Chief remarked that if he was aware of the bigotry in the hold of INDIA alliance on state and national level, his party would not have gone to Congress carrying a list for the purpose of sharing seats. He said his party would contest in all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 election.
The Samajwadi Party, who had been eyeing to spread out from regional to national level party, demanded 12 seats in Madhya Pradesh when asked to support by the Congress party’s Uttar Pradesh Chief Ajay Rai.
States like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram will go to polls from November 2 to 30 and the counting of vote will be on December 3. The election on these fiver states are of immense importance as they are the first since the formation of the INDIA bloc, formation of alliance that constitute 26 opposition parties, which was formed to wrestle back the power from the hands of Bharatiya Janata Party. The other reason why the elections on these five states are important is because they are the last major elections before the 2024 election which is “extremely crucial” for India.
