J&K Assembly Election Results 2024: Independent Candidate Satish Sharma Wins In Chhamb Constituency

The counting of votes for the Jammu and Kashmir elections is underway by the Election Commission. Satish Sharma, an independent candidate won in the Chhamb constituency in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 against the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate with a total of 6929 votes.

Chhamb is one of the 90 seats of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. The constituency went for election in the first phase on September 18.

In the 2014 elections, Dr Kirshan Lal, a BJP candidate won the Chhamb constituency by securing 36033 votes whereas the INC candidate remained the runner-up with 21243 votes. In 2008, INC candidate Tara Chand won the elections. However, in a quite surprising manner, this time an independent candidate has taken the lead.
