There are speculations brewing that ahead of Lok Sabha polls, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath will join BJP. However, as per the recent reports, Kamal Nath has quashed the rumours.
On Saturday, Journalist Swati Chaturvedi reports that Senior Congress leader told her that “no way” he is switching to the saffron party. Swati wrote on X: “So just met Kamal Nath; he says “no way” to rumours of him switching to the BJP. Just reporting.”

When CNN News 18″s senior editor Pallavi Ghosh wrote yesterday on a X post: “There is a storm brewing in the Madhya Pradesh congress-if it happens, it could be big;” in response, many users commented that Kamal Nath is joining the BJP.

For the past few days, many unconfirmed sources reported to news networks and social media that Kamal Nath and his son, Nakul Nath going to join BJP. Sources even claimed that senior Congress leader will join BJP in March and are discussing about the joining formula. In last week also, when enquired about switching sides to BJP, Kamal Nath brushed aside the speculations, however, added; “All are free, not bound to be associated with any party,” Deccan Herald quoted as Nath is saying.
Kamal Nath, currently an MLA from Chhindwara, has represented the Lok Sabha constituency nine times. Besides, he served as 18th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for a period of 15 months and submitted resignation after a political crisis.
On couple of days before, Nakul Nath declared his candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Chhindwara seat. The announcement was made by Nakul Nath during a ‘Karyakarta Abhaar Sammelan’ in Chhindwara in the presence of his father.
