KTR Triumphs Again: Landslide Victory in Sircilla Constituency

In a resounding victory, BRS”s Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) emerged winner in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections from the Sircilla Assembly Constituency. With an astounding lead of 89,244 votes, KTR emerged victorious over his opponent Kondam Karuna Mahender Reddy of the Congress who secured only 59,557 votes. Facing tough competition from Mahender Reddy KTR”s decisive win reinforces his political stronghold in the region.

The key candidates in the fray include Rani Rudrama Reddy from the BJP, Kondam Karuna Mahender Reddy from the Congress, and Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) from the BRS. Voter turnout in the Sircilla Assembly Constituency of the Telangana Assembly elections of 2023 marked noteworthy 74.02 per cent.

In the 2018 elections, KTR had previously secured the seat by defeating Congress”s Kondam Karuna Mahender Reddy with a margin of 89,009 votes and showcased KTR”s dominance with 125,213 votes in his favour.

The Sircilla Assembly constituency, falling under the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency, has been a political battleground. Situated in the heart of Telangana, Sircilla is a vibrant town known for its textile industry. As the district headquarters of Rajanna Sircilla, the town boasts over 40,000 power looms, making it the largest textile hub in the state.

The 2014 results showcased K.T. Rama Rao”s earlier triumph, with 92,135 votes securing a lead of 53,004 vote over Congress”s Konduru Ravinder Rao.

As KTR secures another term, the political landscape in Sircilla remains firmly under the influence of the BRS. The mandate from the people echoes a continued trust in KTR”s leadership and policies, solidifying his position in Telangana”s political arena.
