Kailash Vijayvargia was in shock and expressed his ambiguity while declared by his party as a candidate for the 2023 Madhya Pradesh state legislative assembly elections. Being the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) national general secretary, Mr Vijayvargia’s name was revealed in the second list of BJP candidates for the state election. He then said that he was told only two days prior to the release of candidate list about contesting in the polls and was initially hesitant.

Kailash Vijayvargia took the responsibility after the central leadership convinced him and stated that he will “follow what the party wants from” him. Mr Vijayvargia added that the entire team of BJP was all set to work collectively in the elections and later in the government which they were expected to form. He was fielded from the Indore-1 constituency and was competing against the Congress candidate Sanjay Shukla, who currently hold the office. Madhya Pradesh went polling booths on November 12. As said by the Election Commission of India, the votes will be counted and the results will be declared on December 3, 2023.

He was not chosen randomly, the six-time legislator and 12-year expertise as a state cabinet minister was a clear shot by the BJP to spark a rule change in Indore, disposing the incumbent Congress. For a political overturn, he is the right candidate. Because Kailash Vijayvargia was once the game-changer of BJP in the 2014 election. Mr Vijayavargia is a six-time legislator who has never lost an assembly election and also worked as a state government cabinet minister for over 12 years before being elevated to the party’s central leadership. He was elected to the Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly in 1990, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, and 2013.

It was in 2008, he became the state minister of Public Works, Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Administration and Development.
