Kuzhalnadan Roars Back: Record-Breaking Landslide for UDF in Muvattupuzha

Kerala: In a result that has redefined the political boundaries of the district, firebrand Congress leader Dr. Mathew Kuzhalnadan has secured a monumental victory in the Muvattupuzha constituency. In what was expected to be a competitive bout against the Left Democratic Front’s N. Arun, Kuzhalnadan turned the contest into a one-sided affair, winning by a massive margin of 42,829 votes.

The victory was officially confirmed after the completion of all 15 rounds of counting, marking one of the highest winning margins in the history of the constituency. The scale of the victory has sent shockwaves through the political circles of Kerala, as the incumbent MLA successfully capitalized on his high-profile image and aggressive stance against the ruling government.

From the opening of the first postal ballots, Kuzhalnadan established a lead that grew exponentially with every passing round. By the time the final EVMs from the LDF’s traditional strongholds were opened, it became clear that the UDF candidate had managed to secure a significant portion of the neutral and traditional Left votes, leaving his opponent, N. Arun of the CPI, far behind.

The atmosphere in Muvattupuzha turned festive early in the day as the margin crossed the 30,000-mark, with UDF supporters gathering in thousands to celebrate the “Kuzhalnadan Wave.” This decisive mandate is seen as a personal triumph for the Congress leader, whose tenure was marked by frequent legal and political confrontations with the state leadership.
