“Rahul Gandhi, Make VDS CM”: With Over 1 Lakh Comments, Malayalis Rally Behind VD Satheesan”

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Over one lakh comments flooded Rahul Gandhi’s Facebook post, with Malayalis demanding VD Satheesan’s immediate appointment as chief minister of Kerala following the UDF’s  landslide victory under Satheesan’s leadership.

Supporters are now vocalising their clear preference as AICC observers Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik reached Kerala to consult with newly elected party legislators to choose the new chief minister.

Notably, VD Satheesan faces tough competition from KC Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala in this high-stakes race. However, coordinated emails to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi highlight intense grassroots pressure to appoint VD Satheesan.

Satheesan’s supporters objected to Deepa Dasmunshi, alleging bias toward rival contender KC Venugopal during consultations. The Congress high command aims to finalise the Chief Ministerial selection by Sunday after individual consultations.
