Kerala Election Results 2026: Ramesh Chennithala Wins Haripad Seat As UDF Surges Ahead
Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has secured a decisive victory from the Haripad Assembly Constituency seat in the Kerala Assembly Election 2026 as per the Election Commission.
Representing Congress, Chennithala won by a margin of 23,377 votes, reaffirming his stronghold in the constituency.
His closest rival, T T Jismon of the Communist Party of India, trailed with 44,807 votes, while Sandeep Vachaspathi from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) finished third with 31,022 votes.
As of 1:30 pm, the overall trends across Kerala indicate a strong lead for the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), which is ahead in 100 seats. The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) is trailing with leads in 38 seats, while the BJP-led NDA is ahead in just 2 seats.
The counting of votes, which began earlier today, continues under tight security across the state. The UDF is showing strong momentum, and the results could mark a major political shift in Kerala. More updates are expected as counting progresses.
