CPI(M) candidate U.R. Pradeep has secured a resounding victory from the Chelakkara Assembly Constituency in the Kerala Assembly Election 2026, as per the Election Commission.
Representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Pradeep won by a huge margin of 29,386 votes, underlining a dominant performance for the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the constituency.
His closest rival, Independent candidate Sivadasan (Sivan Veettikunnu), finished second with 46,687 votes, while BJP candidate K. Balakrishnan secured 37,286 votes to end in third place.
The result reflects a commanding mandate in favour of the LDF, with U.R. Pradeep maintaining a strong lead throughout the counting process. The significant margin highlights the party’s solid support base in Chelakkara.
The counting of votes, which began earlier in the day, was conducted under tight security arrangements. With results emerging across Kerala, this victory adds to the LDF’s overall performance and strengthens its presence in the state’s political landscape.
