Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: Congress’ Tony Chammany Wins Vypen With Strong 15,648 Vote Margin

As per Election Commission data, Tony Chammany of the Indian National Congress has secured a clear victory in the Vypen constituency with 66,112 votes. He defeated Adv. M. B. Shyni of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), who polled 50,464 votes.

Chammany won the seat with a margin of 15,648 votes after the completion of all 16 rounds of counting. The large margin shows strong support for the Congress candidate across the constituency.

The result indicates a decisive win for the UDF, with Chammany maintaining a steady lead during the counting process. The gap between the two candidates reflects a clear preference of voters in favour of the Congress in this election.

With this victory, the UDF strengthens its position in Vypen, marking an important win in the overall election results.

The counting of votes for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections began at 8:00 am on Monday, marking the culmination of a high-stakes political battle among the United Democratic Front (UDF), the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
