After the resignation of Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the BJP legislature party has elected Nayab Singh Saini as their next chief minister. Manohar Lal is an influential figure within the Other Backward Community (OBC).
Manohar Lal currently serves as the BJP”s Lok Sabha MP from Kurukshetra and was appointed as the party chief in October last year. In addition to Saini, it is said that one Deputy chief minister and five additional Cabinet ministers will also be sworn in.
Born in 1970, the BJP leader hails from Mirzapur Majra.
His political career began with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He has crossed paths with Manohar Lal, former chief minister who resigned on Tuesday amid apparent cracks in the ruling coalition of BJP.
Saini began his political journey within the BJP in 1996. Working alongside the state general secretary until 2000, Saini took his initial footsteps with BJP”s organizational framework. And later his political career grew steeply.
He assumed the role of district general secretary of the BJP Youth wing in Ambala in 2002, and in 2005 he held the role as the district president in Ambala.
His dedication to the party has made him hold various positions. He served as state general secretary of the BJP Kisan Morcha in Haryana in 2009 and district president of Ambala BJP in 2012.
In the 2014 election, Saini was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Narayangarh constituency. And then he was appointed as the minister in the Haryana government in 2016. The BJP leader serving different strategic role have depicted leadership and administrative capabilities.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Nayab Singh Saini defeated his rival Congress candidate Nirmal Singh from the Kurukshetra constituency with a margin of over 3.83 votes.
As for his educational qualification, Nayab graduated with a BA from BR Ambedkar, University Mujapharpur in July. And also took LLB from Choudhary Charan Singh University, Merrut (UP).
