The Okhla assembly constituency is part of the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency and comprises areas like Madanpur Khadar Village, Khizrabad Village, and Jasola Village. With a diverse voter base and high electoral participation, Okhla has seen shifting political trends over the years.

Following Hashmi’s departure, Asif Muhammad Khan of the RJD won the 2009 by-poll and later contested and won the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections under the Congress banner.

As the 2025 election results approach, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Shifa Ur Rehman Khan, is seeking to make a breakthrough in Okhla but now trailing behind other major candidates.

As of the latest updates, Manish Chaudhary from the BJP is leading with 4,955 votes, followed by Amanatullah Khan from AAP with 2,695 votes, and Ariba Khan from Congress with 475 votes.
