Rahul Gandhi Uses ‘Body Double,’ Claims Himanta Sarma Quoting Report

Amid the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s ceaseless remarks on the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra and the following spates with the Congress leaders, Himanta Biswa today (Thursday) claimed that Rahul Gandhi used ‘Body Double’ during his Yatra. The Assam chief minister quoted a media report that a body double of Rahul Gandhi was used on the bus being used for the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra.

Expressing her shock at the bizarre allegation, Congress working committee member Supriya Shrinate took to her social media platform X (formerly Twitter), saying that the Assam chief minister has gone mad. “You have gone mad Himanta, the shock is deep!” Supriya Shrinate wrote.

While speaking to the media, Himanta Biswa further questioned the timing of the Yatra and accused Rahul Gandhi of creating a “communal clash” in Assam. “What was this, Yatra? Look at its timing. They had hatched a conspiracy to instigate a major communal clash in Assam. We had a glimpse of it in Guwahati. But their big conspiracy was to cross through Assam during the Ram Temple Pranpratishtha and a clash ensued in the state. But the people of our party and Ram Bhakts restrained themselves. They did not let anything untoward happen in Assam…I would like to tell Rahul Gandhi…people of Assam will see you in Lok Sabha for your arrogance. I give you this commitment today – Congress will get an even lesser number of seats in Assam and we will defeat them with a good margin. I promise you this today.” Himanta Biswa said, ANI reported.

The chief minister further called the Congress soft-Naxal claiming that he was in Congress for 22 years and the party was not like this before. He further accused the Congress as a left-leaning party.
