In a tit-for-tat reply, the Congress leader and Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge responded to the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa”s comment saying that even after 10 years, the BJP needed its star campaigners such as Godhi Media, Central Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax (IT), and Enforcement Directorate (ED). Himanta Biswa had commented on Mr Priyank”s earlier post that challenged the former for waiting to arrest Rahul Gandhi until the general election. The Assam chief minister had responded that the BJP “needed Rahul Gandhi during the election,” as the reason for delaying the arrest.

However, in his response to Himanta, Mr Priyank further asked the Assam chief minister to see the BJP”s castle crumbling if these constitutional agencies were taken out. “Take them out of the equation and you will see your castles crumbling,” Mr. Priyank wrote, hinting at the misuse of media and constitutional institutions such as CBI, IT and ED to suppress the opposition parties and cover up the government’s corruption.

In an indirect dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Priyank further wrote that your (BJP) leader cannot sit through a press conference nor address without a teleprompter.

“Bhaisaab! Even after 10 years, you need your star campaigners Godhi Media, CBI, IT, ED. Take them out of the equation and you will see your castles crumbling. Your leader cannot sit through a press conference nor address without a teleprompter forget doing a Padhyatra with the people,” the post reads.

Earlier today, Priyank Kharge had taken to his social media platform X, responding to the Assam chief minister’s threat that the state police will arrest Rahul Gandhi, triggering the war of words between the two leaders.
