Why Wait For Lok Sabha Election: Karnataka Minister Asks Himanta Biswa On His Arrest Warning Against Rahul Gandhi (Photo on X Priyank Kharge / ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕ್ ಖರ್ಗೆ @PriyankKharge)
Responding to the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s threat against Rahul Gandhi warning him that the police would arrest the Congress leader after the Lok Sabha election, Karnataka Congress leader and minister Priyank Kharge today took to social media asking Himanta Biswa why he is waiting for Lok Sabha election to arrest Rahul Gandhi if he has broken the law. “Why don’t you go ahead and do the needful,” the Karnataka minister asked. Priyank Kharge then Criticised the Assam Chief minister accusing him of looting the people of Assam and not standing up for the neighbouring state Manipur when it is reeling under violence and chaos.
The Karnataka congress leader further noted that the Assam chief minister was scared by Rahul Gandhi echoing the sentiments of the people in Assam. “You won’t do that, because you are fully aware that he speaks the truth,” Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge wrote on his social media platform X.
“Why wait for the Lok Sabha elections Himanta Biswa ji? If Rahul Gandhi ji has broken the law, why don’t you go ahead and do the needful? You won’t do that, because you are fully aware that he speaks the truth, you did not stand up for your neighbour in Manipur and are looting the people of Assam. He is merely echoing people’s sentiments which scares you!” the post reads.

Assam Chief Minister yesterday (Wednesday) warned that Rahul Gandhi would be arrested after the upcoming general election citing that the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra caused violence, provocation, and disturbance to peace. “We have filed an FIR. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) will conduct the investigation and he (Gandhi) will be arrested after the Lok Sabha elections,” Hemanta Biswas had said.
The Congress leaders have alleged that the BJP leaders are full of hatred, with Rahul Gandhi challenging the Assam chief minister to file as many cases as he can.
However, responding to Priyank Kharge”s post as to why the Assam chief minister is waiting for the Lok Sabha election to arrest Rahul Gandhi, Himanta Biswa taunted that they (BJP) needed Rahul Gandhi during the election. “We need Rahul Gandhi during the election Brother,” Himanta Biswa wrote.
