Rajasthan Election Results: BJP's Kuldeep Wins Viratnagar Assembly

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kuldeep has won from Viratnagar, defeating Indian National Congress” Indraj Singh Gurjar. Kuldeep polled 83262 votes compared to Indraj Singh Gurjar”s 65673.

Viratnagar Assembly constituency is one of constituencies of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in the Jaipur district. Viratnagar constituency covers all voters from Viratnagar tehsil; part of Kotputli tehsil, which includes ILRC Paota; and part of Shahpura tehsil, which includes Chhapra Khurd, Nathawala, Rampura and Saiwar of ILRC Shahpura.

There are total of 2,07,789 voters in the seat, which includes 1,09,403 male voters, and 98,386 female voters.

Virat Nagar is consistently at the forefront of significant political affairs. Viratnagar served as the capital of the ancient Mahajana Pada of Machcha, marking its presence in Indian history due to its robust governance.

In 2018, Indraj Singh Gurjar won the election under the banner of Indian National Congress. In the 2018 Rajasthan elections, Viratnagar recorded a voter turnout of 73.56%. Kuldeep Dhankad became second with 40060 votes.

In 2013, Dr Phoolchand Bhinda of BJP won the seat by a margin of 9,398. Dr Phoolchand Bhinda secured 45.33% of the total votes polled. In this year  Viratnagar recorded the turnout was 72.41%.

BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 4,078 votes (3.98%), registering 26.02% of the total votes polled.

The electoral politics of Rajasthan did not see any change in its three-decade tradition of voting out the incumbent party as the BJP is all set to form the government. Overall, according to the latest report out of the total 200 seats BJP leading with 115 seats and Congress is second with 69 seats and Bharat Adivasi Party became third with 3 seats.  Along with Rajasthan, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh. The results of three states have also been announced today.
