Rajasthan Election Results: Dr Ritu Banawat Wins Bayana Assembly

The results are finally out and independent candidate Dr Ritu Banawat won by securing 105749 votes, defeating INC candidate Amar Singh Jatav in Bayana constituency. Amar Singh Jatav, member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly secured 65107 votes. BJP candidate Bachchusingh Banshiwal, who came third secured 14398 votes. Congress failed to retain seat in Bayana constituency. There were a total of 192495 valid votes.

The Rajasthan Assembly election was held on November 25th for 199 seats out of 200 seats. Bayana assembly constituency is part of Bharatpur district and it is reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled caste(SC).

In 2013 assembly elections, Bachchu Singh Jatav of BJP defeated Ritu Banawat. Bachchu Singh secured 43868 votes while Ritu secured 38057 votes. Nirbhay Lal  INC came third securing 33748 votes .The constituency had 203293 electors then.

In 2018 assembly elections, Amar Singh, INC candidate defeated Dr Ritu Banawat of BJP as the former secured 86962 votes and the later secured 80267. In the last three elections in 2003, 2008 and 2013, BJP party won in Bayana constituency, whereas INC could overcome BJP’s margin. This time Sunil Kumar of BSP came third securing 3054 votes. The total electorate was 239110 in 2018.

Overall, according to the latest report, out of the total 200 seats, BJP won 115 seats while INC won 69 seats. Along with Rajasthan, the assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The results of these states have also been announced today except for  Mizoram. The results of Mizoram will be announced on December 4.
