Revanth Reddy To Take Oath As Telangana CM Today: Report

The Congress is all set to form the government in Telangana. Various reports suggest that Revanth Reddy will take the oath as Chief Minister today, December 4. However, Congress has not given any official statement on this matter. Meanwhile, newly-elected MLAs will attend the meeting of the Congress Legislative Party this morning. After this meeting, the name of the new Chief Minister is expected to be officially announced. Revanth Reddy was appointed the Telangana Congress president in June 2021.

At the same time, a letter was circulating on social media sites claiming that PCC President Revanth Reddy would be taking the oath as CM on December 4. The letter also claims that top Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with several other dignitaries, will attend the oath ceremony.

Revanth Reddy and Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar met the Tealangana governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan, on Sunday night to stake claim to form the government in the state. DK Shivakumar said that they have staked claim to form the government with 65 members and also added that they have called a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party at 9.30 am on December 4. Notably, DK Shivkumar is the observer for the legislative party meeting in Telangana.

The Congress made an incredible comeback in the Telangana Assembly elections by winning 64 seats in the 119-member Telangana State Assembly. K. Chandrashekar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) managed to get only 39 seats.
