Rohtas Nagar Election Results: BJP's Jitender Mahajan Leads

As per the Election Commission data, in Rohtas Nagar, Jitender Mahajan of BJP is leading with 22,963 votes. While, Aam Aadmi’s Sarita Singh has come in second by securing 16,706 votes. The Rohtas Nagar assembly constituency went to polls on February 5 along with other 70 constituencies.

The candidates in the fray are Sarita Singh of the AAP, Jitender Mahajan of the BJP and Sureshvati of the Congress. In the previous assembly election, BJP’s Jitender Mahajan won by a margin of 13, 241 votes. And AAP candidate Sarita Singh came in second securing 60,632 votes. Mahajan’s victory margin stood at 13,241 votes, making up 9.34% of the total votes cast. With a voter turnout of 51.94%, this result marked a significant win for BJP, highlighting Jitender Mahajan’s appeal among the electorate.

The Congress party had won three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2013. While, the saffron party was only able to win once. After ending the Congress rule in 2013, the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP formed the government in the national capital and further it had completed its second consecutive term (2015 to 2025). The national capital had recorded a voter turnout of 57.70 per cent till 5 pm in the single phase of assembly elections.

Delhi has an electorate of 1.5 crore, with 83.49 lakh male voters and 71.73 lakh female voters. Meanwhile, third gender voters are 1,261 as per the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi.
