
Nangloi Jat Election Result: Manoj Shokeen Of BJP Wins
In the Nangloi Jat constituency of Delhi, Manoj Shokeen of the BJP party won, ending the decade-long rule of AAP. The BJP candidate defeated the two-time winner and the incumbent MLA, Raghuvinder Shokeen of AAP, with a margin of 26,251 votes.
The Nangloi Jat assembly constituency, which is one of the strongholds of the AAP party for almost a decade, has witnessed a crucial contest between Raghuvinder Shokeen of the AAP, Manoj Kumar Shokeen of the BJP, and Rohit Choudhary of the INC.
Manoj Shokeen ended the decade-long rule of the AAP party and won the seat as he secured a total of 75,272 votes. Whereas the AAP candidate, Raghuvinder Shokeen, who aimed for the hat trick win, managed to secure 49,021 votes.
Manoj Shokeen served as the MLA of the Nangloi Jat constituency from 2013 to 2014, defeating Bijender Singh of INC by about 11,000 votes in the election. He also served as an MLA from 2008 to 2013 from Mundka, Delhi.
He won the 2008 MLA election from Mundka with about 15000 votes against Prem Chander Kaushik of INC. He also served as a municipal councillor from Nangloi from 1997 to 2002. He lost the election to Raghuvinder Shokeen of AAP in 2015.
In the last Assembly elections, the AAP’s Raghuvinder won by a margin of 11,624 votes, whereas the BJP’s Suman Lata became the runner-up, securing 62,820 votes. Congress candidate Mandeep Singh stood third with 9,761. The total number of valid votes polled was 151,272.
In the 2015 Delhi Assembly Elections also, AAP’s Raghuvinder Shokeen won the seat with a margin of 37,024. He was polled 83,259 votes and defeated BJP candidate Manoj Kumar Shokeen, who got 46,235 votes. Congress candidate Bijender Singh stood third with 15,756 votes. The total number of valid votes polled was 152,375.
