Telangana Assembly Elections Results: Congress Candidate B Manohar Reddy Wins Tandur constituency

Congress candidate B. Manohar Reddy defeated Bharath Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate Pilot Rohit Reddy by securing 84662 votes in Telangana“s Tandur constituency. Pilot Rohit Reddy secured a total of 78079 votes. Nemuri Shanker Goud of Janasena Party came in third with 4087 votes Buyyani Manohar Reddy was Joint Ranga Reddy District DCCB chairman who has resigned from the party and joined Congress recently.

In the last assembly election held in 2018 P. Rohit Reddy, who represented Congress, secured a total of 70428 votes, and emerged as MLA. However, it was in 2019 that he switched over to the TRS by surprising everyone. While his rival Patnam Mahen Reddy of TRS stood second with 67553 votes. BJP “s Patel Ravishanker came in third position. The total electorate was 201917 in 2018.

In the 2014 assembly elections held in Tandur, TRS candidate Patnam Mahender Reddy with 61293 votes won the election leaving behind Malkud Narayan Rao of INC who garnered 45219 votes. Turning back to 2009, it was P. Mahender Reddy who emerged as MLA under the TDS banner by securing 63737 votes. While INC candidate Malkud Ramesh stood second with a 13203 vote difference.

Tandur Assembly constituency is one of the constituencies of Vikarabad district in Telangana which is known for the production of limestone. The assembly constituency compromises of the mandals namely Tandur, Peddemul, Basheerabad, and Yalal.

It was on 30th November that the election to Telangana Assembly took place. Overall, according to the latest reports, out of the total 119 seats, Congress is leading with 64 seats and BRS with 39 seats is in second position. BJP with 8 seats is currently in the third position in the total seat share.

Along with Telangana, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram.
