In a close electoral battle from the Karimnagar Assembly seat in Telangana, the BJP national general secretary and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay lost by a margin of 3,163 votes. BRS’ nominee, G. Kamalakar, won the seat by securing 92,179 votes. The BJP leader got 89016 votes.
Karimnagar, which falls in the North Telangana region of Telangana, is categorized as an urban seat. The shadows of the 2018 elections linger, when Gangula Kamalakar of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) achieved a remarkable victory, defeating the BJP”s Bandi Sanjay Kumar by 14,974 votes. Kamalakar”s victory, with 41% of the vote, set the stage for an exciting election.
Karimnagar Assembly, which is part of the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency, is an important part of Telangana”s political narrative. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party”s Bandi Sanjay Kumar won the Karimnagar Lok Sabha (MP) seat by a remarkable majority of 89,508 votes, defeating TRS”s Boianapalli Vinod Kumar. The electoral scene is further complicated by Kamalakar”s persistent domination, as seen by his victory in 2014 with a commanding advantage of 24,754 votes.
