In an intriguing conclusion to the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, Dr. Kavvampally Satyanarayana of the Congress has emerged winner in the Manakondur Assembly Constituency. He secured an astounding vote lead 96,773 over his closest rival, Erupula Balakishan of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, who received 64,408 votes.

In the hotly contested electoral battle, key candidates vying for the Manakondur seat include Arepally Mohan from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr. Kavvampally Satyanarayana from Congress, and Erupula Balakishan from the BRS. The grand old party emerged triumphant, solidifying its position in the region. The election to Telangana State Assembly was held on 30th November in 119 constituencies.

With a total voter turnout of 81.32 per cent, Manakondur Assembly Constituency witnessed  enthusiastic voter participation in the democratic process. This constituency has been the centre of many of political developments. The assembly segment is located in the Karimnagar district and is a portion of the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency. This win represents a dramatic departure from the 2018 elections, in which Arepally Mohan of the Congress who later allied with the BJP, lost to Balakishan Rasamayi of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS) by a margin of 31,509 votes. An astounding 85.36% of voters cast ballots in 2018.  Even in the 2014  Assembly elections, Balakishan Rasamayi of the BRS emerged victorious with 85,010 votes, claiming a substantial lead of 46,922 votes over Arepally Mohan of the Congress.

Dr. Kavvampally Satyanarayana, the newly elected representative, has already indicated his commitment to the development of the constituency. During his campaign, he assured the establishment of reading rooms in every village, emphasizing the importance of education and knowledge dissemination.
