The results of Dubbak Assembly election is finally out and Kotta Prabhakar of BRS emerged as the winning candidate. He won by securing a total of 97879 votes with a margin of 53513 votes. While, M Raghunandan Rao of BJP came second securing 44366 votes. Cheruku Srinivas Reddy of INC came third and got 25235 votes. Although Reddy lost the seat in the by poll election held in 2020, BRS managed to retain the seat by defeating BJP with a majority. The total valid votes are 174765 in 2023.
Dubbak assembly constituency is one of the ten constituencies in Medak district and it comprises of seven Mandal”s namely, Dubbaka, Doultabad, Chengunta, Mirdoddi, Thouguta, Raipole and Narsingi. In both Assembly elections held in 2014 and 2018 in Dubbak constituency Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy of BRS won the elections. The elections to Telangana state Assembly was held on 30th November 2023 for 119 seats.
In 2014 assembly elections, BRS’s Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy defeated Cheruku Mutyam Reddy of INC by securing 82234 votes. Mutyam Reddy was the elected member of Dubbak constituency in 2009. M Raghunandan Rao of BJP came third by securing 15131 votes. There were 186452 electors in Dubbak constituency in 2014 then.
In 2018, Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy defeated Maddula Nageshwar Reddy of INC as the former secured 89299 votes and the later secured 26799. The M Raghunandan Rao of BJP came third securing 22595 votes .The total electorate was 190523 in 2018 then. In July, 2020 Reddy underwent surgery for a circulation problem, unfortunately the surgery was unsuccessful. As Reddy passed away, Ragunandan Rao of BJP got elected from Dubbak constituency by a margin of 1074 votes. He won against Solipeta Sujatha Reddy who was the wife of Ramalinga Reddy. Rao was a lawyer by profession, he started his political career as a TRS member from 2001. In 2013 he got suspended from the party and later joined Congress but resigned within few days.
Along with Telangana, assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The results of these four states was also announced today except for Mizoram. The results of Mizoram will be announced on December 4.
