Directed by Blessy, Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has received impressive reviews and numbers. Despite the film not releasing on a holiday, Aadujeevitham garnered over Rs 7.45 crore on Friday, its second day in theatres.
According to box office monitor Sacnilk, the film achieved Rs 6.5 crore at the box office on Friday, corresponding to an overall collection of Rs 14.10 crore across India in all languages. The pan-India film’s total revenue totals Rs 11.82 crore for Malayalam, Rs 1.15 crore for Tamil, Rs 0.75 crore for Telugu, Rs 0.07 crore for Kannada, and Rs 0.08 crore for Hindi.
Day two witnessed a higher Malayalam occupancy rate of over 75.09 percent. The occupancy rate on its first day was 57.79 percent. The film has gained a total of around Rs 14.10 crore in the past two days. With the weekend here, the numbers are expected to increase significantly.
The international co-production has been receiving raving views for the world-beating performance of Prithviraj, with audiences hailing it as a “career-defining” performance. The incredible cinematography by Sunil KS elevates the tale of suffering and survival based on the true story of Najeeb. The film also marks the reunion of musical legends AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty.
The film follows the story of Najeeb and his struggle to escape the desert land after being kidnapped and treated as a slave for years. The film is based on the Malayalam classic book titled the same, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb Muhammad. Apart from Prithviraj, Aadujeevitham features Amala Paul, Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean Louis, and Arab actors such as Talib al-Balushi and Rik Aby in pivotal roles.
