Biggest Opening In 2023, Salaar Hits RS 178.7 Crore, Beats Pathaan, Jawan And Animal

The makers of Salaar’: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ in a press release on Saturday said that the movie reached a whopping Rs 178.7 crore on the opening day. “The most violent man has announced his arrival. Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire hits 178.7 crores at the global box office on the opening day. The biggest opening for any Indian film in 2023,” the release said.

The action-packed movie made by Prashanth Neel starring Bahubali’s Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in lead roles earned the biggest Indian box office record. The movie, which was originally made in Telugu was released in five languages, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi – on December 22. The power-battle movie beat the first-day collection records of the “Animal”, “Jawan”, and “Pathaan” respectively. Comparing the openings of the other box office hits in 2023, Pathaan earned Rs 57 crore on the first day. Jawan on its first day collected Rs 75 crore while Animal got 63 crores in the opening day.

Sharing the news of the record collection for the movie, Prithviraj Sukumaran took to X (formerly Twitter) with the text: “The most violent man announced his arrival. The biggest opening for any Indian film in 2023.”

The movie earned the most in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, collecting 70 crores with an overall occupancy of 88.93 per cent in Telugu region. After the Telugu region, the movie collected the most from Karnataka and Kerala, accumulating 12 crores from Karnataka and 5 crores from Kerala.

As a two-part movie, Salaar’s second part, titled “Shouryaanga Parvam” will be released later. As the fans” expectations are met, with positive reviews flocking from the filmgoers, the movie has been praised for the well-shot action sequences, though criticisms are also there.
