Mammootty starrer ‘Bramayugam’, directed by Rahul Sadasivan continues to thrive at the box office. After its strong opening in its initial three days, the movie continues to sustain its success.
The film opened with an impressive Rs 3.1 crore and Rs 2.45 crore on Friday. With the rave of good reviews, the film went on to earn Rs 3.35 and 3.85 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The movie has successfully passed its Monday test too, by earning an amount of Rs 1.65 crore.
The film witnessed an overall occupancy of 67.62% on Sunday, with 56.75%, 71.86%, 78.68%, and 68.20% contributed by morning, afternoon, evening, and night shows respectively, reports TOI.
On the fifth day, the Indian net collection stood at Rs 14.40 crore and Rs 31.6 crore worldwide, reports Sacnilk. The film benefitted largely from positive reviews and word-of-mouth, which has helped it perform overseas as well.
Adding on to its glory, the film’s success is not just restricted to Kerala, it has garnered appreciation from audiences across Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi-speaking audiences as well.
Despite, the movie being non-commercial, the stupendous acting of the actors in the film has attracted the audiences to the theaters. Mammootty’s portrayal of Kodumon Potti has earned acclaim for his remarkable acting skills. The movie also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in key roles.
Bramayugam is horror thriller in monochrome in which Mammootty plays the protagonist role with a negative shade. Mammootty’s character, Kodumon Potti is a sorcerer and villain who owns a mansion which is located in Southern Malabar. The movie is discussing a horror plot from the 18th century Kerala.
Bramayugam is the second outing for director Rahul Sadasivan in Malayalam. His previous movie, the critically acclaimed Bhoothakalam, helmed by Revathi and Shane Nigam was an OTT release.
