Malayalam megastar Mammootty ‘s Bramayugam is breaking all the box office records. The movie which is released on last Thursday has reportedly raked in more than Rs 30 crores in world box office. Bramayugam which also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz has already got good audience and critic reviews. The movie is reportedly is the best grosser in first three days for the national award win actor.
Bramayugam is horror thriller in monochrome in which Mammootty plays the protagonist role with a negative shade. Mammootty’s character, Kodumon Potti is a sorcerer and villain who owns a mansion which is located in Southern Malabar. The movie is discussing a horror plot from the 18th century Kerala.

This is the second outing for director Rahul Sadasivan in Malayalam. His previous movie, critically acclaimed Bhoothakalam, helmed by Revathi and Shane Nigam was an OTT release.
According to box office reports, the movie has garnered more than Rs 12 crores from Kerala and more than Rs 18 crores from outside Kerala including markets in Gulf, America and Australia regions. Bramayugam, which was made with Rs 27 crores budget is expected to break Mammootty’s previous release Abraham Ozler’s box Office record. With Bramayugam’s success, Mammootty is continuing his winning streak in the Malayalam industry.
Last year, Mammootty’s own production Kannur Squad also collected more than Rs 80 crores from the box office.
With these numbers the 70 plus actor has again established himself as a box office king in South India.
According to box office monitor Sacnilk, the movie had a first day collection of Rs 3.1 Crore and Rs 2.45 crore from Kerala.
The movie collected Rs 3.35 from Saturday and latest report from Sunday has recorded Rs 3.29 crore, with the total collection reaching more than Rs 12 from Kerala alone.
The movie has become a wave in Australia and New Zealand with the positive reviews. Bramayugam has been released in 50 and 17 theatres in Australia and New Zealand respectively.
The movie was lauded by the critics and audience alike for its portrayal of caste and power structures in 18th century Kerala.
